Project: Replacing C Pens
Projected Cost: $76,890
Status: will begin late this spring/early this summer
The C Pen enclosures temporarily house avian patients – usually larger birds of prey like eagles, Great Horned Owls, and vultures – as they recover from surgeries or treatments; the C Pens are often the first outdoor stop in the rehabilitation process. The current C Pen building includes seven pens, each roughly 8 ft by 16 ft. The C Pen complex is deteriorating and in need of replacement.
As part of this project, the current C Pens will be torn down; the plans for the new complex include one additional enclosure.
