Predator Mitigation of Maggie/Rowan enclosures

Project: Predator Mitigation of Maggie/Rowan enclosures
Projected Cost: $4,547

Status: completed March 2021

Constructed in 2019 after a devastating ice storm, the enclosure complex that now houses Maggie the Peregrine Falcon and Rowan the Red-tailed Hawk provides an ideal set-up for these outreach ambassadors, including great visibility for Center visitors.  Unfortunately, nocturnal predators – raccoons and skunks – have considerable digging skills and are threatening to do serious harm to the enclosure and its occupants.  Modifications to the enclosure to deter these predators include underground fencing and sturdy concrete threshold.
