Tours and Field Trips

A visit to the Wildlife Center of Virginia is a truly unique opportunity for your class, club, or group. Learn about the inner-workings of a wildlife hospital, meet one of our education ambassadors up-close,  and take an up-close look at our resident non-releasable raptors. 

Programs for schools meet the Virginia Standards of Learning requirements.

COVID-19 Response: We will be rescheduling all scheduled programs until April 1st in effort to reduce the potential spread of coronavirus. We will be offering extra Skype in the Classroom sessions in the interim, which you can sign up for here:

Wildlife Center of Virginia Tour:
Learn about the Wildlife Center with a presentation by an educator, a video introduction to our hospital, and a close-up experience with a resident non-releasable education animal. Finish with a tour of our outdoor raptor enclosures where you’ll see and learn about owls, vultures, falcons, hawks, and eagles.

Length: one-hour program
Group size: up to 30
Age: 1st grade through adult*
Cost: $5 per person [minimum fee of $100]

*Please note that we are a working wildlife hospital, and loud noises can be very stressful for ambassadors and patients; tours are not suitable for children under the age of five.

To schedule tour or field trip, please fill out our On-site Program Request form*. Your request will be e-mailed to the Outreach department, who will contact you to complete your booking. Your reservation is not complete until you receive a confirmation letter.

*Sunday tours and field trips are available on a limited basis.
