Visit the Wildlife Center of Virginia

H&H 4-09 02A visit to the Wildlife Center of Virginia is a truly unique opportunity for your class, club, or group. Learn about the inner-workings of a wildlife hospital, take an up-close look at our resident non-releasable raptors, or enjoy a guided hike through the adjoining George Washington National Forest led by a Wildlife Center educator.  Programs for schools meet the Virginia Standards of Learning requirements.

Wildlife Center of Virginia Tour

Learn about the Wildlife Center with a presentation by an educator, a video introduction to our hospital, and a close-up experience with a resident education animal.  Finish with a tour of our outdoor raptor enclosures where you’ll see and learn about owls, hawks, and eagles.

Length: one-hour program
Group size: up to 40
Age:  all ages through adult
Cost: $4 per person [minimum fee of $75]

Hospital and Habitat

Combine the Wildlife Center Tour with a guided nature hike in the neighboring George Washington National Forest.  Learn about the animals that live in there and discover what they need to survive in their forest habitat.

Length: two-hour program
Group size: up to 40
Age:  best for 1st – 5th grade, adaptable for older groups
Cost: $6 per person [minimum fee of $125]
