Wildlife Center Admits 106 Patients in March 2011
Patient admissions were on the rise at the Wildlife Center in the month of March — and the trend will continue with the busiest spring months that are ahead of us. Of the 106 patients admitted in March, more than half were young wild animals. At this time of year, the WCV staff is treating many young squirrels, opossums, and rabbits. The first fox kit of the season was also admitted in March.
March 2011 also saw five Bald Eagle admissions; these birds came from the eastern part of Virginia — Gloucester, Accomack, King and Queen, and Richmond Counties, as well as the city of Williamsburg. Four of these eagles are currently being treated at the Wildlife Center.
Day in and day out, the Wildlife Center relies on the support of individuals for its live-saving work. Please help!
