misty8-10 01A classroom visit provides an in-depth focus on one animal, in a small group setting.

Visit includes a story [preK - K] or PowerPoint introduction [1st grade through high school], touchable items, and a live animal.

Length: 30-minute program
Group Size: Up to 30 students
Age: Best for preK – high school
Cost: $100 plus mileage*.  For schools more than 15 miles away from the Wildlife Center, a minimum of two classroom visits or a combination with an assembly program [scheduled for the same day], is required.

* Mileage fee: A per-mile charge is applied to the round-trip distance from our location in Waynesboro, VA.
 
All About Owls!  For preK – K
Let the children spread their wings!  Visit includes a short story about owls, a look at the features that make owls unique, and the opportunity to explore a touch-table of owl-related items.  Children will meet a live owl!
 
All About Owls!  For 1st grade – 5th grade
Have you ever wondered how owls hunt in the dark, where their ears are, or whether they can turn their heads all the way around?  Explore the adaptations that make owls unique and learn about their role in the environment.  Students will have the opportunity to examine touchable owl-related items and will meet a live owl!
 
All About Owls!  For middle – high school
Owls are found throughout Virginia, and all over the world!  Learn about the wide variety of owl species and enjoy an in-depth exploration into the physical and behavioral adaptations of these top predators.  Students will have the opportunity to examine touchable owl-related items and will meet a live owl!
